A FAMILY say they "fear the worst" for their 15-year-old daughter who has not been seen since last night.

Kelsey Wardrop, from Foundry Wynd, Whitehirst Park, has been missing since being out with friends yesterday.

The Kilwinning Academy pupil was last seen by friends at 6pm on Sunday (April 10).

But there has been an unconfirmed sighting of her when pals say they saw her boarding a bus at Kilmarnock Bus Station headed for Stewarton at 10pm last night.

However the family say they have had conflicting information and other friends claim she was heading to Kilmaurs.

The teenager's mum, dad and sister are extremely worried about where Kelsey has gone as she has never gone missing before and her phone has been off since last night, despite her having her charger with her.

Sister Stacie, 20, told the Times the disappearance is out of character: "We are all really worried. My mum hasn't slept all night and my dad has been out driving around looking for her.

"We are desperate for news. Kelsey is a smart girl. She would never deliberately not get in touch. This is totally out of character for her.

"She takes her phone and charger everywhere with her so even if she is going to be late home, she always phones to let us know, but my mum hasn't heard from her since Sunday lunch time and her friends say they last saw her at 6pm.

"My mum always makes sure she drums it into her to stay in touch and has been doing that even more so since what happened to Paige Doherty in Glasgow last month. Things like that make you fear the worst.

"We just want Kelsey to know she is not in trouble. Please just come home."

The family have reported Kelsey's disappearance to police who are investigating.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We are aware of Kelsey’s disappearance and inquires are at an early stage. Anyone with any information should contact the police by calling 101.”
