BIG-HEARTED students recently handed over a generous donation to Ayrshire Central’s Rainbow House.
Ayrshire College’s Learning FT class decided to raise money for the unit as some of the students had attended Rainbow House as youngsters.
Thanks to their fantastic fundraising efforts at a Christmas bake sale and selling Mother’s Day treats, the class managed to raise £120.66.
Rainbow House is an assessment, diagnosis and treatment centre for children and young people in Ayrshire and Arran who may need additional support with their development.
It is also the base for the Community Paediatric Service.
The donation will go to the Rainbow House Amenity Fund which is used to purchase toys and support events and outings for young patients.
This includes a yearly weekend trip to an outdoor activity centre in Keswick, specially designed for physically impaired children.
Elaine Murray, Administration Manager, said: “On behalf of everyone at Rainbow House, I would like to say a huge thank you to the class at Ayrshire College and everyone who supported their fundraising efforts.
“It is very greatly appreciated and will be used to benefit the youngsters who we care for.”
