KILWINNING Rotary Club have handed over around £2,000 to good causes in the community.
At their most recent meeting, it was agreed that donations be made to KSC Barca, Oxenward Surgery and Kilwinning Rangers Football Club.
KSC Barca, a group based at Kilwinning Sports Club, have received a cheque for £500 to assist in taking over 30 youngsters on a trip in July to Norway to compete in a football tournament.
Oxenward Surgery has also received a similar cheque for £500 to enable them to purchase equipment necessary to improve the facilities within the surgery and the Rotary Club will purchase a defibrillator for Kilwinning Football Club should a situation arise where it is required at Abbey Park.
The life-saving devices roughly cost between £750 and £1,000.
These donations have only been possible through the monies raised in the Rotary Charity Shop which closed on Saturday, June 25.
The next meeting of the club on July 5 will be dedicated to those who have volunteered in the shop over the past years and all the volunteers have been invited to join the club members for a meal in Dalgarven House Hotel on that evening.
