TRANSPORT bosses have revealed the new dates for £280,000 of work on a busy Kilwinning road.

On Friday, November 11, major resurfacing work by Scotland Transerv will start on the A738 Dalry Road to McLuckie Drive.

The improvements were supposed to take place on Friday, October 14 but it was shelved due to forecasted adverse weather conditions.

But transport chiefs are hoping for better luck with the weather in improving the road which is used by nearly 10,000 vehicles every day.

Work will begin at 8pm on Friday, November 11 and will continue through the weekend to Monday, November 14 at 6am.

The work is once again subject to bad weather with the possibility of the dates being extended.

A signed diversion will be in place via the A738 Stevenston Road, A78 Pennyburn Roundabout, A78 Eglinton Interchange and the A737 Irvine Road for eastbound traffic.

Access to Kilwinning Railway Station at Pennyburn Road will also be closed off with access to pedestrians being maintained at the entrance.
