A young mum bagged herself a £1,000 supermarket sweep around her local discount store.

Ashleigh Linton, 24, from Kilwinning, entered a national competition with Johnstone’s Paint and B&M after buying a tin of paint in the retailer’s store on North Ayrshire Retail Park.

She and her partner, Sean McKay, had just two minutes to push the trolley around the aisles last week and frantically grab products from the shelves, while family and friends cheered them on from the side-lines.

The couple picked up three televisions, lots of home appliances, toys and much more.

Ashleigh, said: “Taking part in the trolley dash was such a good experience, I was really nervous but still managed to grab everything I wanted.

“My little girl asked me to pick up all the toys in the shop for her so I had to make sure I got plenty for her to play with.”

Store manager Alan Frame said: “We’re all really pleased that we’ve been able to help Ashleigh get everything she needs for her new home.”
