Staff at Ivybank Vets held a bake sale last week and raised the marvellous amount of £153.75 for the SSPCA.
And the cakes went down a storm with residents who dropped in to their Kilwinning, Irvine and West Kilbride surgeries.
A spokeswoman for Ivybank told the Times: “The SSPCA is a fantastic charity who look after animals in Scotland.
“They do the same job as RSPCA who cover England and Wales. Some people don’t realise when they donate to RSPCA that the money helps animals in England and Wales but not Scotland.
“SSPCA don’t receive any government funding and rely on donations. So the more we can generate the better.
“Everyone who bought cakes helped SSPCA as well as having some lovely cakes to eat!”
Our picture above shows staff at the Kilwinning branch with some of the delicious cakes and baked goods on offer - and a furry friend too.
