A Kilwinning woman has admitted repeatedly kicking a police officer before spitting in their face.

Sara Chesterson, of Garrallan, Kilwinning, pled guilty to two assault charges when she appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

On June 22 last year at Garrallan, 22-year-old Chesterson admitted assaulting a police constable while in execution of their duties by repeatedly kicking her on the body.

On the same date, Chesterson later spat on the constable’s face while at Saltcoats Police Station.

Not guilty pleas from Chesterson to three other charges were accepted by the court.

Sentencing was deferred for reports, and bail was continued.

She will also have to pay a compensation requirement of £100 over the incident.
