A community clean up was organised to help clear up Eglinton Country Park after the busy Easter weekend.
Residents gathered in the park armed with bags and litter pickers on Tuesday last week, with organisers delighted with the difference they made.
Kilwinning councillor Donald Reid said: “I’m very happy that so many folk turned out given the weather. It was great to see the community from different groups come out and the public. What a difference it makes.
“You don’t think it’s that bad but when you get 20 bags of rubbish all pulled together you see a big difference.
“It’s definitely something we plan to do again, there’s other bits further out we could target next time, the footpaths and walkways out on the edge of town need a bit of attention.”
“If any group is interested I would be delighted to help organise and go out with them.”
