LOCALS interested in learning Scotland's native tongue have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Gaelic culture at Irvine Royal Academy this weekend.
Gaelic Day (or Latha Gaiidhlig) takes place on Saturday May 16 at the school, with a day of classes organised by Gaelic Development staff from North Ayrshire Council's Community Learning and Development department.
Registration for the day starts at 9.30am with classes continuing until 4.15pm.
Lunch is included and the whole day is free of charge.
The day is not just about the language, also covering the music and traditions of Gaelic culture.
Whether you are a beginner or are a bit more advanced, there will be something for you.
