PARTS of Kilwinning Main Street were this week closed off to allow the multi-million pound makeover to kick-off again.

After a Christmas break to avoid disruption to shoppers, the £2.57 million project is now set to continue and is due to be completed by around August this year.

The replacement of monoblocking with granite and the improvement of the lighting will be carried out in the rest of the Main Street and efforts will be made to get all the empty shops filled to transform the town centre into a thriving economy.
