THE SEARCH is on to find someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in his or her work with North Ayrshire Council.

A special award awaits the employee – or team of employees – who have provided outstanding service in the last year.

The winner or winners will be honoured in the 2014 North Ayrshire Achieves awards programme.

Members of the public are invited to nominate suitable candidates to receive the “Going the Extra Mile” award.

Nominations for this category will be accepted from Monday, April 7.

Last year the ”Going the Extra Mile” award went to Dennis Hopkins, headteacher at St Bridget’s Primary School in Kilbirnie.

The awards programme was launched three years ago to celebrate high standards of employee service across North Ayrshire Council.

Chief Executive Elma Murray said: “We really value this direct feedback from residents which allows us to acknowledge the good work our staff are doing through the Council’s Employee Recognition Programme.

“So to achieve this I need your help. Please nominate the employee or employees that you think have 'gone the extra mile’.” The closing date for nominations is 12noon on Friday, September 12, and the winners will be announced in November.

Further details are available at www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/NAA, where an online nomination form can be completed, or in a leaflet from the Council’s Customer Service Centre, Bridgegate House, Irvine, or at one of the local offices or libraries
