FOOTBALL fans have been given a rare chance to get their hands on the Holy Grail of Scottish football.
Sports enthusiasts young and old flocked to the Masonic Lodge in Kilwinning last month to catch a glimpse of the Scottish Cup, which is more than 140 years old.
Two fans lucky enough to get their hands on the historic trophy during its brief visit were cousins Rio and Lewis Burns.
Rio, nine, (left) from Kilwinning and seven-year-old Lewis from Girdle Toll were taken along by their dads, brothers Graham and Andrew Burns and were delighted to pose with the treasured cup.
The Scottish Cup is the oldest national trophy in the world.
It was first held in 1873-74 with the first winners being Queen's Park.
The current holders of the Scottish Cup are Celtic, who defeated Hibernian 3-0 in the 2013 final in May of last year.
