THIS year’s Kilwinning Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on a Saturday in a bid to involve more residents and businesses.

Usually the event takes place on a Thursday evening, but this year it will be on Saturday, November 22 this year, kicking off at 2.30pm until 6pm.

Joe Broussard Chair of Promoting Kilwinning explained that it was hoped that having it on a weekend would attract more people to the town.

He said: “A traditional Thursday night has always been good for the Christmas Lights Switch On. However we feel it appropriate to alter the event to try to support the local shops further by bringing in more people on a Saturday when we have more parking provision and the overspill in the Ayrshire College car park”.

There will be charity and craft stall space at both a shop unit and the Erskine Hall. The Main Street will also be available for those wanting to brave the weather.

All space booked early is £15 a table for indoor stalls. Please email or phone for a stall application form.

If you need any further information - call Joe Broussard on 01294 552284 or email joe@broussard.co.uk A reminder all stall types will be considered on a first come first to get confirmation basis.
