IRVINE will sparkle once again when the Christmas Lights switch-on returns for 2014.
Organisers Irvine Special Events Forum (ISEF) have confirmed that following last year’s hugely successful switch-on, the big event will return on Sunday, November 30.
A whole host of activities and events are being lined-up for the day and it is hoped that even more people will turn out for this year’s event.
Thousands of people flocked to the High Street last year to see The Only Way is Essex star Mark Wright help with the switch-on along with a fantastic fun fair which filled the High Street.
And if last year wasn’t good enough, ISEF are hoping to make this year’s show the biggest and best event with not one but two celebrity guests being lined up.
But they are remaining tight-lipped on their identities for now which will be revealed in due course.
ISEF also received some good news this week after being awarded £2,900 from North Ayrshire Council.
The bulk of the grant (£2,250) came from the Community Development Grants Scheme while £650 came from the Local Youth Action Fund.
The organisers are also looking for the support of local businesses in their bid to make the switch-on a success.
