POLICE are appealing for information after a generator was stolen from an Irvine landfill site.
The diesel generator was stolen from the Shewalton landfill site between December 16-16 last year.
Officers posted a picture (above) of a similar generator and have asked residents to keep an eye out for it's distinctive colourings.
A police spokesperson said: "The 6KVA diesel generator was stolen overnight between the 16th and 17th of December 2014 and features a distinctive blue serial number plate with yellow markings which, even if removed, will leave a distinctive mark.
"We now have photographs of a similar generator from the same hire company and would appeal to anyone with any information on the theft to contact us."
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland by calling 101 or to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity is guaranteed.
