Thankfully no one was injured in any of the crashes, but all vehicles involved suffered some damage.
A spokesman for Irvine Police said: “Between 1.10 and 1.40 on Monday, March 2 five road traffic collisions were reported to police in the Irvine area. The five incidents involved nine motor vehicles.
“All the incidents appear to have been during the heavy winter showers that the area experienced. No reports of any serious injuries.”
