AN IRVINE man who committed an assault outside a nightclub has been fined.

Blair McClymont, of Tollerton Drive, attacked a man near to Pitchers nightclub in Bank Street on March 1.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard last week how McClymont and another man were ejected from the nightclub in the early hours of the morning for fighting.

The 25-year-old was drunk and the altercation continued outside the club.

McClymont punched the man who suffered a small cut to his eye and burst his nose.

Police were contacted and McClymont made admitted the drunken attack.

He stated: “I’ll not lie mate, I hit him before he hit me.” When appearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week, McClymont pled guilty.

Defence solicitor Alex Muir revealed that McClymont had too much to drink on the evening in question and now realises that he should have walked away.

McClymont was fined £200 by presiding Sheriff Brian Murphy.
