A SEX offender has admitted failing to provide police with his personal details.

Michael Hamilton, 47, committed the offence while on bail between December 20-30 last year.

The Times previously revealed how Hamilton admitted possessing a sickening stash of indecent images of children on his mobile phone whilst at his work place in Irvine’s Amer Sports in Crompton Way between February 3 and February 9, 2014.

Hamilton also admitted possessing the psuedo-images between March 15, 2013 and March 14, 2014 at his home address in McDowall Place, Ardrossan.

He was granted bail in March 2014 and placed on the Sex Offender’s Register until his return to court.

It was during the period of his bail that Hamilton failed to provide police with his personal details.

Hamilton failed within the three-day period allowed to provide the police with his name, date of birth, address and National Insurance number at Irvine Police Office.

In addition, he also failed to inform police of his passport details, the details of his Aqua, Ocean and Vanquis credit cards along with the details of his Halifax bank account.

Hamilton dodged in a prison sentence in February after Sheriff Iona McDonald sentenced him to three years supervision, ordered him to perform 200 hours of unpaid work and placed Hamilton on the Sex Offender’s Register for the period of his supervision.

Hamilton returned to Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and pled guilty.

His case was adjourned until May in order to obtain a Community Payback Order progress report.
