TRANSPORT police are appealing for information after a train travelling through Kilwinning had its windscreen damaged.
The incident was said to have occurred at around 9.50pm on Thursday, September 10 when an object was thrown from the railway bridge at Pennyburn Road.
This cracked the windscreen of the driver’s cab of the 9.31pm Ardrossan Harbour to Glasgow Central service.
No-one was injured as a result of the incident and the train was able to complete the journey.
Constable Yvonne Forsyth from British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information regarding those responsible to contact BTP on 0800 405040 or by texting 61016.
Information can also be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
