THERE has been a lotto luck in the air for Irvine"s sporting youngsters - with two groups scooping grants in celebration of the Commonwealth Games 2014.
The Magnum Ice Dance and Figure Skating Club AND Irvine Ladies Hockey Club both got awarded cash sums of around £1000 to help get kids more excited about sport and spent the money in very different ways.
MIDFS had a really ice time using the funding to help pay for an exciting skating forum where they invited prestigious coaches and experts from the world of ice down to the Magnum.
President of the group Wullie Loach said around 60 of the 270-strong group compete in national competitions, so their £1,000 Big Lottery windfall was used to get top skaters to help them train for the special event on May, 31.
