A SPRINGSIDE mum was caught drink driving when her teenage daughter called police after they had a row.

Audrey Clark, of Main Street, had been involved in a heated argument on March 17 this year.

Having returned to her home she had a few drinks but then realised that she had to collect keys from her 17-year-old daughter.

When she arrived at St. Kilda Bank her daughter noticed that she seemed to have been drinking.

Procurator Fiscal Lorraine Sweeney told Kilmarnock Sheriff Court: 'She noted that the accused was driving and detected a smell of alcohol and noticed her stumble before driving off in an erratic manner.'

The police eventually traced her and found that the engine was still warm, before she admitted to driving and to having drunk four cans of cider previously.

Clark, a chef, was found to be over two times the limit after having a blood test at the police office.

The 39-year-old"s lawyer Douglas McPhee told the court that she had no intention of driving but that 'circumstances' had led to her 'stupidly' choosing to drive.

Sheriff Seith Ireland fined Clark £300 and banned her from the roads for 15 months.
