Major plans for town
IRVINE could be getting its own bus station - as part of plans to make it the main shopping centre for the whole of North Ayrshire.
Councillors this week met to discuss action plans for saving the ailing centre from th edevastating effect of out-of-town centres such as Glasgow's Braehead and Silverburn.
They looked at long-term plans for saving the town while 'confirming and strangthening' its position in West of Scotland shopping for the next 20 years.
Councillors were also told that options for a new transport hub or bus station are 'currently being assessed'.
