Woman dies after Crosshouse smash

DETAINED: A 22-year-old man is under observation at Crosshouse Hospital following the crash.
A 52 YEAR-OLD woman died following a two vehicle crash in Crosshouse on Monday morning, police have confirmed.
The crash happened at around 11.25am on the B751 Gatehead Road between Crosshouse and Gatehead and involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Corsa.
The woman, who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa, died at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 22 year-old man, was removed by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he has been detained for observations.

As we went to press the names of those involved had not been confirmed.
