AN IRVINE driver was hit in the face with a brick which flew through his open window, knocking out two of his teeth, say police.

The 18-year-old, who had four passengers in his car at the time, managed to keep control of the wheel and was rushed to hospital with bleeding from his face and mouth.

Police said he was driving near Irvine Railway Station when two teens, aged 15 and 17, allegedly threw a heavy stone or brick in the window in an unprovoked attack.

The teens, both from Irvine, were reported to be hidden behind bushes when they carried out the alleged assault that lead to the motorist being rushed to hospital where he received 12 stitches to his face.

Two teens have been arrested in connection with the incident.
