Town witnesses two brutal street attacks in the space of an hour

DOUBLE ATTACK: Police rushed to the scenes of violence on Friday night.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two serious assaults in Irvine on Friday night.

Following the violent disturbances two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds but both have since been released.

The first incident took place at around 10.30pm in Heatherstane Way, Bourtreehill, when a 17-year-old male was followed by three men.

In the second incident only one hour later a large scale disturbance broke out in Lomond Place in Castlepark.
