Motorist's fury at retail park parking restrictions

AN IRATE motorist has become the latest to hit out at parking restrictions in an Irvine retail park - claiming it is a "trap" for unsuspecting drivers.

Thomas Taylor was stunned to see a £45 fine drop through his letter box last week after parking in the East Road Retail Park for more than an hour.

Mr Taylor says the signs advising drivers about the charges are too small and insists he will now appeal the fine.

He fumed: "When you drive into the car park there's a sign at the entrance but it looks like advertising."

Trading Standards say they have been contacted about the matter but say the signs comply with regulations.
