Big-hearted youngsters clean-up the town

A MAJOR clean-up of Almswall Park in Kilwinning marked the culmination of a week's hard graft by local school children, residents and scouts on Saturday.

Throughout last week kind-hearted volunteers took time out to clean up parts of the town - and even keen politicians got in on the act!

More than 40 enthusiastic volunteers, including a hefty presence from the 19th Ayrshire Scouts and Pennyburn Primary School, teamed up on Saturday to give Almswall Park a complete once over.

A variety of items were bagged throughout the morning in an effort that continues Promoting Kilwinning's Clean and Beautiful Campaign.
