A CAMPAIGN has started to get Irvine Old Parish Church on the map - and stop streams of visitors from getting lost on their way there.

While recent historical revelations continue to attract increasing interest in the important historcical site, visitors are continually losing their way because there are NO signs leading from the amin roads to the grade A-listed building.

Reverend of the parish Robert Travers sai the sign swere urgently needed to unlock the visitor potential of the town centre irk and to stop vistors to Irvine getting sent to the wrong place.

HE said: "Folk are travelling big distances to come to the church and for some reason we are the only one in town that doesn't have any signs."

See The Times for a special feature on the OLD Parish Church this week.
