Appeal after maniac holds up five staff at Lawthorn store

FIVE members of staff at a Lawthorn Spar store were held up at knife-point during a terrifying robbery on Saturday.

A knife wielding maniac burst into the Cardow Crescent shop demanding goods before fleeing the scene with more £100 worth of cigarettes.

The attack, which took place in broad daylight, left four female members of staff along with a male employee extremely shaken.

Police have now issued a detailed description of the male robber and are calling for the assistance of the public in tracing him.
