Hotel, shop and restaurant plans for new 18 hole site
PAR FOR THE COURSE: The site next to the existing Dundonald golf course.
PLANS to develop a prestigious £60m links golf course on the Irvine coast have taken a major step forward.
Developers the Ayrshire Golf Company have now completed negotiations with Irvine Bay to construct the 18-hole course with adjoining hotel and holiday homes at a site next to the existing Dundonald golf course at Western Gailes.
Construction of the par 71 golf course and hotel facility with clubhouse, professionals shop, spa, restaurant and conference facilities is now expected to start next year.
Final planning permission has yet to be obtained from North Ayrshire Council but the move is expected to create around 250 construction jobs.
