Yob threw brick from footbridge

A KILWINNING man had a lucky escape after a brick smashed through his window on the Irvine bypass.

The 23-year-old was travelling north on the A78 between the Warrix and Eglinton Interchange when a mindless idiot launched the brick from the footbridge next to Paterson Avenue.

Despite the windscreen shattering the driver remarkably managed to keep control of his car as he performed an emergency stop on the carriageway.

Miraculously no one was injured but police are still hunting the attacker who made off on foot after the incident on Saturday night.
