Why is Van the man for Graham?

Print | Email

AN IRVINE artist who has been hitting the headlines with his portraits of stars like Michael Jackson and Tiger Woods has turned his attention on a more historical figure - Vincent Van Gogh.

And Graham McKean, who is based at the Irvine Harbour studios, said he was inspired to paint the Dutch artist because he was his hero.

He said: "I'm a big fan of Van Gogh.

"It's probably looking at his paintings that inspired me to take up the brush myself. So it just seemed natural to make him the subject."
