Work begins on £3.5M council houses

A £3.5 MILLION Kilwinning council housing project has been given the green light following a massive cash boost from the Scottish Government.

A total of 26 new council houses are to be built in Winton Avenue, Kilwinning - the site of the former St Michael's Academy.

Work is expected to begin on site in October 2010 and continue through to September 2011.

it is the second council house new-build project in the area within the past two years after a previous announcement for housing in the Castlepark area of Irvine.
