SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury's have unveiled the first images of how their proposed new Irvine supermarket will look if they get planning permission from North Ayrshire Council.
The £20 million plans for the site at Ayr Road, where Wilson Sports Good Factory was previously sited, are currently under consideration from planning officials.
Paul Miller, Sainsbury's National Development Surveyor for Scotland, spoke in favour of the plans and said they thought they would good addition to the town.
He said: "The new food store would provide a bright new entrance to the town as well as increasing the choice and quality of shopping for local residents.
"We are confident that our proposals are the right choice for local shoppers - on the right site for the town."
