A SPRINGSIDE teen has been accused of attacking a man at a Dreghorn pub - and
spitting in the faces of others, including two police officers.
Dale John Ferguson, of Springhill Terrace, allegedly assaulted William Muir in
the rear yard of the Dreghorn Inn, reportedly pushing him and causing the other
man's glasses to be knocked off his face and leading to him stumbling.
The 17-year-old is also accused of spitting in the face of Craig Muir and on the
body of Elizabeth Muir during the alleged incident.
Ferguson is then reported to have resisted four police officers in the village's
Main Street.
He is charged with lashing out with his arms and legs in an attempt to break
free from the officers.
And he is accused of spitting in PCs Christopher Russell and Niki Callan's face
during the incident.
The teenager is further charged with acting in a disorderly manner outside
another address in the Main Street, shouting, swearing and challenging others to
fight.
He pled not guilty to assault, breach of the peace and resisting arrest at
Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Ferguson was released on bail but was ordered not to enter Dreghorn Main Street
and to stay within his home between 7pm and 7am.
He will stand trial later in the year.
