Man accused of driving off while pregnant partner was halfway in car

A MAN has been accused of injuring his pregnant partner after speeding off while she was halfway in his car.

Colin James Graham, 21, is reported to have driven off while his pregnant partner Heather Campbell was only partially inside the vehicle, holding on to both the car itself and to Graham.

He is charged with dragging Ms Campbell along, causing her to fall to the ground, leaving her with injuries.

The alleged incident took place at Ms Campbell's home in Dundonald Crescent, Auchengate.

Graham is then accused of crashing into a parked car nearby, damaging it.

He is reported to have failed to stop his vehicle to give his details to the owner of the car, nor reported the accident to police within 24 hours.

Graham, of Colquhoun Drive, Alexandria, pled not guilty to assault, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop at an accident and failing to report an accident to police at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.

He is also accused of committing the offences while on bail.

The 21-year-old will stand trial later in the year.
