A WORRIED resident has warned that children could drown if they wander into a large pond that has formed beside a residential area in Kilwinning.
But the council are boosting their bid to tackle the mysterious water at the entrance to Whitehirst Park, by planting another hundred trees aroudn the site after their first attempt failed to saok it up.
Concerned chair of the community association Ruth Devine said she had the watery area had grown increasingly dangerous in recent years.
She said: "What'is worrying me is that small children wandering down there could be drowned.
"I've stayed here for 32 years and my boy used to play down there when it was just a bog ."
