DANGER POND WILL NOW BE FENCED OFF

A MYSTERIOUS pond that has formed at Whitehirst Park will be fenced off, after it was labelled "dangerous" in the Times.

A lagoon that has developed at the edge of the housing area has began to cause serious concern among residents, after efforts to soak up the water by planting trees have failed.

Last week, community association chair Ruth Devine hit out to say the unmarked pond could cause a child to drown.

But now, following a meeting of the Kilwinning Area Committee, it has been announced that the pond at Stevenston Road will have a fence put around it while the authorities investigate what has caused the water to get deeper in recent years.
