MORE than 200 angry bus travellers have signed a petition demanding the service from Irvine to Kilwinning is reinstated, just as a new night bus from Glasgow to Kilwinning has been announced.
Elderly and disabled residents from the Corsehill area are particularly angry at being forced to change buses two or three times to get into Irvine.
Councillor Margaret McDougall handed the signatures to Stagecoach and said that even more names could have been collected for the bid to save the vital No 27 service.
She said: "Unfortunately, the elderly and disabled who use the service most are being penalised for living in the Corsehill. Stage Coach does not take that into account, they are only interested in profit."
