AS CHURCH numbers fall across the country and it becomes ever fashionable to have-a-go at religion it's quite a surprise that one part of Kilwinning is set to open up its first ever church.
The Blacklands area of the town will soon see the first meeting of the new Oasis Community Church, after a group of eager followers coaxed Rev James Strachan out of retirement to start the project.
He said: "According to our research there has never been a church in that area."
