COUNCIL bosses are set to look at large scale and small scale ways of transforming leisure services in Irvine and Kilwinning - including the creation of Ayrshire-wide services or even local "micro-trusts."

A review is currently underway into the way leisure, sports and recreation is provided.

For the past decade these services have been provided by the "arm's-length" North Ayrshire Lesiure.

A report to the council's Executive committee this week will ask members to agree to look at a number of different methods which could see massive changes to the way services are provided.

See the Times today for details.
