THE hunt is on to find the fire-starters who torched the Kilwinning Main Street Post Office - forcing the branch to shut, inconveniencing hundreds of pensioners and customers in the town.

Police have said they are studying CCTV footage from the back of the store to help them find vandals who started the fire at the rear of the RS McColl, reportedly using a white sealant, in the early hours of Sunday, May 2.

While the branch is closed, customers are being reminded they can use any Post office outlet to collect pensions, with Pennyburn the closest at hand.
