A dress-shop owner in Kilwinning was left distraught after the only path to her shop was blocked up for more than a week.

And Heather Wilson, who only opened her Main Street business weeks ago, worried that customers would think she had closed down after Scottish Power closed access to her store while fixing an underground electrical fault.

The trader's woes started two weeks ago (on Wednesday, July 21) when a power cut at a nearby bank meant utility workers had to dig up a path - then left it in disarray for ten days.
