Firefighters were called down to Irvine Moor to rescue a boy who was trapped in a bin.

The incident happened in the early morning, at around 7am, of July 29 and a spokesperson for the fire brigade said officers were baffled about how the boy got there.

Dreghorn station commander Kenny Allcroft said: "He had climbed in and when we got there he was unable to get out.

"I have no idea why he was there - I wouldn't like to speculate."
