Central Ayrshire MP Brian Donohoe had received an apology from a quango cracking down on expenses, after he was embroiled in a bullying scandal.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) issued the apology after the Mail on Sunday printed Mr Donohoe's name among a list of MPs accused of bullying and swearing at staff.

Other MPs mentioned in the article, titled 'Named: The MPs whose angry outbursts forced expensed chief to quit'm, include Cabinet Ministers Theresa May and Vince Cable, and Labour's ex-Europe Minister Denis MacShane.
