OUR A-ROADS ARE WORST IN WHOLE OF SCOTLAND

A higher proportion of A-roads need urgent repair in North Ayrshire than anywhere else in Scotland, according to a new report into the problem.

More than 14 percent, around one in six, of the carriageways have been designated as in the RED ZONE, meaning they are in "really quite bad" condition and need repaired immediately.

And our crumbling road problem seems to be getting worse, as the NAC figure is up 3.6 percent on the previous survey.
