PLANS to demolish a historic church in the heart of Irvine will get back in motion once a wrangle with conservationists has been sorted out, according to a parish source.
Proposals to raze Fullarton Parish Church to the ground had been held up at the planning stages after originally being mooted in 2007, by parishoners hoping to build a new church at the site.
But now the original proposals have been withdrawn amid reports that they will be re-submitted after a tangle with preservation group Historic Scotland over the building, which is around 170 years old, has been resolved.
