FORMER JRG FACTORY FIRE 'DELIBERATE' SAY POLICE

SIXTY firefighters were called in to battle a blaze at a disued factory in Irvine that police say was deliberately set.

The officers battled the massive fire at the North Newmoor estate for around four hours on Wednesday (11) before getting it under control.

Workers from nearby factory units were evacuated because of heavy smoke drifting towards them, while Long Drive had to be closed down while emergancy services dealt with the blaze.
