TOURISM last year netted North Ayrshire more than £98 million - as people are deciding to stay at home for their holidays.

A new trend for 'staycations' has helped the idustry grow in our area by three presen, despite the credit crunch.

And now the council are set to hand over around £90,000 to national marketing agency Visit Scotland to make the most of the fad and get more visitors into our towns.
