AN IRVINE man has joined an elite group of musicians who can claim to have played a Beatle, after taking to the stage with Sir Paul McCartney.

Once upon a time, Gordon Black was playing the pipes in Ravenspark Academy, but just last week he joined the superstar on stage at the Air Canada Centre, Toronto, leading the Paris-Port Dover Pipe Band in a stirring rendition of 'Mull Of Kintyre'.
